Redmi CEO Lu Weibing stated in November last year that the firm plans to launch a smartwatch in the near future. It does seem, though, that Redmi would launch a fitness tracker first. The Chinese “leak hunter” @Digital Chat Station shared information on Weibo’s social network about the upcoming release of the Redmi Fitness Tracker. The novelty apparently still has no official name. However, according to the author, several anonymous sources found information about the device’s layout and functions within the Mi Fit application.
Judging from the published image, Redmi Fitness Tracker will provide a black case and will have a small display with thick frames. The band also has a button on the bottom of the screen “a capacitive touch-button”. The fitness tracker will have interchangeable dials which will display, for example, weather data, according to the information found in the application. The app shows that the Redmi tracker will have an alarm function, a heart rate sensor, payment support (via NFC), and support for controlling music playback. The new gadget is assumed to have a lower price than the fitness tracker for Mi Band. The novelty has already received an Indian Standards Bureau (BIS) certificate with the model number HMSH01GE in the smartwatch category.
