HMD Global has been using tech show platform Mobile World Congress (MWC) for announcing new devices for the past two years. The company will also uses the same to unwrap the new phones at the coming MWC 2020 event this year. Nokiamob.net’s fresh leak courtesy has disclosed some of the names of the phones that can be announced at MWC. The mentioned names such as Nokia 1.3, Nokia 5.2 and Nokia 8.2 5G. The report claims that those devices monikers are not final. The HMD Global is also ready to launch a new original series Nokia phones at MWC 2020.
The Nokia 8.2 5G will be the first 5G smartphone from HMD Global that will join the 8.x family of smartphones. In the mid-range market, Nokia 5.2 will take over from Nokia 5.1, while the Nokia 1.3 will be the other entry-level smartphone from the company.
Nokia 8.2 5G
The publication citing information from a known source has revealed that the Nokia 8.2 4G edition has been cancelled. The Nokia 8.2 5G specs leak suggests it could be the driven by Snapdragon 765G chipset with integrated 5G modem. The base model will have 6GB/128 GB variant, while the Limited Edition is expected to have a variant of 8GB/128 GB and 8GB/256GB. The report suggests that Nokia 8.2 5G might either pack a POLED display or an LCD display.
The leak suggests that the design of the Nokia 8.2 5G rear camera set up could be similar to the Nokia 7.2. It is reported that the smartphone will come in two RAM and storage variants one with 3GB and 32GB (Global) and another with 4GB and 64GB, but the 4GB model could only be launched in select markets. The phone can use a 3,500mAh battery to drive. The price of the base version is 169 euros (~$186).
Nokia 1.3 appears as the company’s next entry-level smartphone. It’ll look like the Nokia 2.3, in terms of design. This means it could be housed in a 3D-nano textured polycarbonate chassis and can sport a durable plastic frame. The Nokia 1.3 could come with a 6 inches LCD display at the top with a U-shaped notch. A MediaTek chipset with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage could be powered to it. The smartphone will draw power from a 4000mAh removable battery. It probably lacks the light of breathing notification. The Nokia 1.3 may feature a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The smartphone could have similar colour choices to Nokia 1 Plus. The Nokia 1.3 could cost European markets around 79 euros (~$87).
Nokia Original Series
The source said a new Nokia Original Series phone was expected to be launched around the Chinese New Year, but the Coronavirus ‘ current outbreak cancelled all planned events out there. The company’s launch was officially postponed to MWC 2020. Sadly there is no news about the new original series phone’s design, name and specifications.
